Shipping Dates
Although we do our best to coordinate shipping time estimates by using shipping carriers, we can not and will not guarantee any shipment date or time. The customer will receive a tracking number after the order has shipped, and it will be up to the customer to follow through with any shipping issues. IMPORTANT: IF the package is expected and it doesn't come DO NOT ASSUME you can pick it up at the depot at your convenience!! You will have a tracking number, so if it doesn't arrive you MUST ASSUME responsibility and contact the courier.
We try to always use Purolator or UPS, but you can call/contact us and we'll sort you out to make sure you get your chocolate!
Inaccurate shipping information
It is up to you to include the exact and correct shipping address including all information such as apartment number and postal code. If possible, also include buzzer code and other helpful delivery information.
If a shipment was sent to an incorrect or incomplete address due to error on the customers end, I will do my best to help the customer intercept and fix the issue, but I cannot guarantee the shipment will arrive on time or arrive at all. This will depend on the carrier and how they decide to resolve it.
If it so happens that the information you provided was incorrect, and the shipment does not arrive on time or arrive at all, then the customer will not receive any refund or store credit in this case. Small business can’t afford to absorb such costs, since we do not have the same margins, shipping rates, or costs other large online retailers have.
Shipping & Weather
Your order may be postponed if there is concern the chocolates will not arrive in optimal condition due to weather conditions such as high temperatures where the order is shipped from or shipped to. You will be notified if we suggest your order to postponed. I will do my best to wrap and keep the package cool. Please consider using the fastest shipping method if your daily high is 23C/73F or higher.
You take it upon yourself to order chocolate at your own risk. I will do my best to alert you of potential high temperatures during shipping that may melt or interfere with the quality of the chocolate. However, if you prefer to not postpone your order, and take the risk, then Colleen's Chocolates will not be held responsible for products that arrive out of temper, especially after an alert by Colleen's Chocolates before the order is shipped.
You take it upon yourself to order chocolate at your own risk. Damages during shipping cannot be refunded or reimbursed. Omissions or incorrect orders will be handled accordingly and we'll always do our best to satisfy our customers.
VIRTUAL EVENTS AND SHIPPING
For Virtual Chocolate events we do our best but have to rely on courier companies and we try to get them to you as quickly as possible so they're not sitting in warehouses or delivery vehicles. If you provided an email address you'll get shipping notifications. You are wholly responsible to ensure you track and receive your parcel once it leaves our facility; we therefore cannot guarantee individual deliveries and can't refund shipping costs (unless a successful claim is made with Netparcel - take lots of pictures, that's what we've learned.) As the Virtual Chocolate tasting kits are custom pieces, they are non-refundable.
We use a discount service at netparcel.com and highly recommend you do as well. Tracking info is provided to the email/cell address you included please ENSURE IT IS COMPLETE! There is a $14 dollar service charge if your address is incorrect (from Netparcel) so please triple check all addresses.
MOST IMPORTANT: if you are in a gated community or apartment building you MUST include a buzzer number or accept responsibility for package pick up at an arranged time or the depot.
PO Boxes get delivered by Canada Post so your delivery options will have to be coordinated or it costs extra.
